About uGetFix
uGetFix publishes step-by-step fixes for Windows errors and everyday software problems, next to live pages that show which services are down, what Microsoft released this month and which versions are current.

How guides are written
Every guide shows the name of its author, and each author has a page listing their guides.
Members can write guides too. An editor reads every member guide before it is published; it then carries the label "Member article". How that works, and how links in member guides are treated, is explained in the publishing rules.
Where a guide relies on outside information, its sources are listed at the end. When a reader reports a broken or outdated step, an editor checks the guide.
Guides describe steps that worked for the problem they cover. Computers differ, so no guide can promise to work on every machine: back up your data before you change system settings.
Where the live data comes from
- Is it down? The providers' own status feeds where they publish one, and our own check of each service every 5 minutes from a server in Germany. How we check services.
- Updates. Microsoft Security Response Center data and Microsoft's Windows release health pages. About this data.
- Drivers. NVIDIA's own driver lookup.
- Versions and calendar. The vendors' release data for Chrome, Edge and Firefox, and endoflife.date for support dates.
- Free this week. The Epic Games Store and Steam store feeds.
How the site earns money
- Advertising. Guides and the side column show one offer at a time, always labelled "Ad". Today that is an affiliate link to Fortect PC Suite: if you buy through it, we may earn a commission. See the affiliate disclosure.
- Memberships. Members can publish guides for free. Paid plans raise the monthly limit and, while the membership is active, non-commercial links in their guides are not marked nofollow. See membership and plans.
- We do not accept payment for positive reviews, and a paid plan does not buy publication: every member guide is checked by an editor.
