If a new driver causes problems

  1. Check which version you have. Open the NVIDIA app or NVIDIA Control Panel > Help > System Information, or Device Manager > Display adapters > your card > Driver.
  2. Roll back from Device Manager. In the same Driver tab press Roll Back Driver. Windows keeps the previous driver for exactly this.
  3. Or install an older version by hand. Download one of the previous versions from the table above and, in the installer, choose Custom > Perform a clean installation.
  4. Stop Windows from replacing it. If Windows Update keeps installing a driver you do not want, pause updates until NVIDIA ships a fix, then update normally.
