About this data
The numbers come from the Microsoft Security Response Center security update data, which we read every 6 hours. A CVE is one publicly numbered security hole. "Exploited" is Microsoft's own flag that attacks were seen before the fix was released.
Microsoft's data lists security fixes only. Known problems caused by an update are a separate Microsoft source, read hourly from its Windows release health pages.
