Privacy policy
This policy explains what information uGetFix.com collects, why, where it is stored, how long it is kept and how to ask for it to be deleted. It describes the site as it works today; when that changes, this page changes with it.
1. Who is responsible
uGetFix.com and the personal data it collects are the responsibility of 3T Media FZE, Creative City Fujairah, licence no. 20352/2026, M1 Floor, Twin Towers, PO Box 4422, Fujairah, United Arab Emirates. Write to we@3towers.ae about anything in this policy.
3T Media FZE also sells the paid memberships, through mr.lt, the payment platform run by 3T Media FZE. Card payments are processed by Stripe (see section 4).
2. If you only read the site
Reading guides and live pages does not need an account and sets no cookie.
Votes. The "Did this fix work?" and "Down for me / Works for me" buttons work without an account. With each vote we store the vote, the page it belongs to, the time and a one-way hash of your IP address combined with a secret key. The hash lets us count one vote per network and limit abuse; the IP address itself is not stored with the vote.
Server logs. Our web server does not keep a log of page visits. The application keeps error logs, which can contain the address of a page that failed.
Content from other servers. The "Free this week" page shows game pictures loaded from the Epic Games and Steam servers, so those servers see your IP address when you open that page. Advertising links (Fortect) and links to sources only contact another site when you click them.
3. If you create an account
When you register we store your e-mail address, your name and your password. The password is stored only as a bcrypt hash, never in plain text. We also store when you confirmed your e-mail address.
When you log in we create a session record with the time, your IP address and your browser's user-agent string, so that we can detect misuse of your account. Login, registration and password reset attempts are recorded with the e-mail address and IP address involved, to stop password guessing.
Questions and reports you send are stored with your account, the page you sent them from, a hash of your IP address and the editor's answer. They are not published automatically.
Guides you write are stored with your account: title, text, links, section, status and the editor's notes. When you send a guide to the editor we record that you accepted the publishing rules, with the time, your IP address and your browser's user-agent. A published guide shows your name and links to your author page.
E-mail. We use your address for account messages only: confirming the address, resetting the password, telling you that the password changed, the editor's decision on your guides and answers to your questions and reports. We do not send a newsletter. Your address is never shown on the site.
4. Paid memberships
Memberships are bought in a window of mr.lt, the payment platform run by 3T Media FZE, that opens on our page. Card payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your card details. For the payment, mr.lt and Stripe collect what is needed (for example your name, e-mail address, billing country and card); Stripe does so under its own privacy policy.
mr.lt passes to this site your e-mail address, the plan, the subscription status and the dates of renewal or cancellation, so that your plan is switched on and off and links in your guides are marked correctly. These are kept with your account.
5. Cookies and browser storage
uGetFix sets one cookie, and only when you log in:
- ugf_session: keeps you logged in. It is set when you log in, can only be read by our server (HttpOnly), and is removed when you log out. It lasts at most 30 days after you register or log in with "Keep me logged in"; if you log in without that option, it ends when you close the browser. The account cannot work without it.
- Browser session storage (not a cookie): if you start typing a question or report before logging in, the text is kept in your browser's session storage so that it is still there after you log in. It never leaves your browser until you send it, and it disappears when you close the tab.
- We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. The mr.lt payment window is mr.lt's own page and may set its own cookies when you open it.
6. Where your data is processed and stored
- Your data is processed by 3T Media FZE, a company in the United Arab Emirates.
- The site and its database run on a server of Hetzner Online GmbH in Germany; that is where the data is stored.
- Stripe (United States) processes card payments for memberships.
- Brevo delivers account e-mails.
- We do not sell personal data and do not share it with advertisers.
7. Why we use it
- To run your account, your membership and the features you use.
- To keep the site secure and stop abuse: vote hashes, session records and login attempt records.
- To keep records of payments that the law requires.
8. How long we keep it
- Account data, guides, questions and reports: while your account exists. After you ask us to delete the account, it is erased within 30 days; guides that were already published may stay online without your name if you agree, otherwise they are removed.
- Sessions: until you log out or the session expires (at most 30 days).
- Votes: the vote and its IP hash are kept so that results stay correct.
- Payment records: as long as accounting rules require.
9. Seeing, correcting or deleting your data
Write to we@3towers.ae from the e-mail address of your account to ask for a copy of your data, to correct it or to delete your account and its data. We answer within 30 days. You can change your name and password in your account yourself.
10. Children
uGetFix is not directed at children under 16, and people under 16 may not create an account. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Security
The site is served only over HTTPS, passwords are stored as bcrypt hashes and access to the database is limited to the people who run the site. No system is completely secure, but we take reasonable precautions.
12. Changes
When this policy changes, the date at the top changes. If a change affects how we use your data, registered members are told by e-mail.
