Affiliate disclosure
Some links on uGetFix earn us money. This page lists them and explains how you can recognise them.
Last updated: Oct 3, 2026
What earns us money today
- Fortect PC Suite. Guides and the side column show a box labelled "Ad" with a link to fortect.com. It is an affiliate link: if you buy through it, we may earn a commission. You pay the same price. Every step in our guides works without it.
- Paid memberships. Members on a paid plan get followed (not nofollow) non-commercial links in the guides they publish, while the membership is active. Such guides are labelled "Member article". The rules are on the membership page and in the publishing rules.
How these links are marked
- Affiliate and advertising links carry rel="sponsored" in the page code and sit in a box labelled "Ad".
- Commercial and affiliate links inside member guides are marked rel="sponsored" on every plan, paid or free.
- Links to sources and to the vendors' own pages are not paid.
Editorial independence
Which guides we write and which steps they contain does not depend on an affiliate relationship. We do not accept payment for positive reviews. If we publish sponsored content, it will be marked "Sponsored" at the top.
Why we label
Paid links are labelled so that readers can always tell advertising from editorial content, in line with the US Federal Trade Commission's guides on endorsements (16 CFR Part 255).
